College students are always in need of extra dough. To make some extra money they can sell their stuff on Craigslist. Here is a quick guide to successful selling on Craigslist.
eBay vs Craigslist
You can sell just about anything on Craigslist much easier than eBay. eBay is definitely another option, but eBay will eat up your profit by charging you a listing fee, another fee once it sells and then PayPal will charge another fee to collect your money.
What To Sell
Items that sell well on Craigslist are larger things like a couch, a television, a computer or a bed. But you can also sell more than just large items. If you have an un-used digital camera or an iPad you no longer want, these electronic items also are always in demand.
List Your Item
To list your item, go to craigslist.org, choose the state / city you are near and post your item for sale. Put a title that includes the name and quality of your item. In the body, write a more detailed description of your item and include details of the exact condition and price of your item. Don’t forget to add your contact info as well. Finally, you will want to add clear pictures of what you are selling.
Textbooks
Lots of college students also sell their textbooks after the semester is over on Craigslist. The books are sometimes purchased for 50 bucks and sold for as little as 10 bucks sometimes. College students can also save some extra cash by renting their textbooks online instead of buying them at the school bookstore.
